A Life transformation through our Home Food Garden programme.
January 7, 2025Mrs Beauty Baninzi, a longtime Etafeni home food garden beneficiary, lives at Mpetha Square with her granddaughter who has a small baby. After losing all their possessions in a fire in December 2023, Mrs Baninzi was referred to our Social Work department. She received trauma counselling, and was supplied with clothing and food parcels for herself and her family. Members of Etafeni staff who heard about this devastating incident reached out by donating food, clothing and things for the baby.
Mrs Baninzi has since begun to rebuild her garden because she says she cannot live without it! She is grateful to Etafeni for having stepped in to assist her and her family in their trying period. She especially thanked Ms Kwandla, Ms Khalani and Ms Tshinyama – Etafeni staff members who brought her clothes for the December holidays when she wasn’t expecting anyone to do so!
